Dear friends,
I’d love to share with you what I’ve been up to this month.
I had the wonderful opportunity of being a presenter at Fediverse Day in Berlin, Germany on October 4th… and I was also interviewed on three of my favorite podcasts about the Fediverse: Libre à Vous, Projets Libres (both in French) and Fireside Fedi (English).

Here is the video of my keynote presentation at Fedi Day Berlin (English); my presentation starts at about 10 minutes in:

Here is my radio interview with Isa Vanni of April on Libre à Vous (French):

N.B.: If you click on the pulldown menu you can skip straight to my interview (chapter 2).
My podcast interview with Walid Nouh on Projets Libres (French) will be released next Monday here (I will update the URL as soon as it's up):
And my livestreamed interview with Ozoned on Fireside Fedi (English, but it starts in Italian!) is here:

Needless to say, it was such an amazing honor to be given these opportunities to talk about my love for the Fediverse, in opposition to Big Tech social media.
My So-Called Sudo Life
After a month of promoting the Fediverse, I’m happy I’m now free to return to my biggest passion: self-hosting experiments and learning new tools and languages.
In case you didn't know, I have a separate section on my site devoted to "my so-called sudo life" (aka all my experiments in learning Linux and self-hosting). You can find all the blog posts here:

My end of the year projects are:
- setting up a private, personal music streaming library with the songs I own (using a FOSS tool called Jellyfin)
- writing a tutorial for newbies about how to self-host NextCloud (a Dropbox / Google Drive alternative) with YunoHost
Other Writings
In case you missed it, a month ago I wrote a Fediverse starter guide for newbies:

My YunoHost guide will be its natural continuation...
Last but not least: the amazing Fediverse advocate Melanie Bartos recorded a voice-over narration for my video "Introducing the Fediverse: a new era of social media." I premiered it at Fedi Day Berlin, at the end of my talk. You can watch it here:

What else? I'm excited to talk at Bologna Tech Week in Bologna, Italy in early December. The conference has a social media track and for the first time ever they will be discussing the Fediverse... and invited me, along with other Fediverse champions, for a panel discussion. I can't wait!
